Terms & Conditions

These terms are an agreement between you and Castillia, a company operating from Piata Rosetti 6, Sector 2, Bucharest, Romania. “You” means anyone visiting our website, creating an account on the platform, listing a property, or sending an event inquiry through us.

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you create an account on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these terms.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect a compromise.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, conducts fraud, or threatens the security of the platform. Usually after giving notice and a chance to remedy.

You agree not to:

• upload content you do not have the right to share, including photographs or scans of properties whose owner has not authorised publication;
• upload personal data of third parties without a lawful basis;
• attempt to circumvent platform security, rate limits, tenant isolation, or our API authentication;
• scrape the platform, mirror our database, or train machine-learning models on our content without a written agreement;
• use the platform for unlawful purposes, including misrepresentation of ownership or trafficking in stolen heritage assets.

If you list a property on Castillia, you represent that you own it or are authorised by the owner to list it.

• You grant Castillia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display the property record, descriptions, photographs, and media you upload, solely for the purpose of operating the platform, including showing the property to potential event organisers and to public audiences where you set the property as published.
• You retain ownership of all content you upload. Removing your property from the platform terminates the licence, save for archived audit-log entries that we may retain to meet legal obligations.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish, capacity, condition, services, pricing, and availability.
• You are responsible for compliance with local heritage, planning, fire safety, accessibility, and licensing rules that apply to events on your property.

Castillia connects organisers with property owners. The contract for an event, including date, fees, deposits, cancellation, insurance and behaviour rules, is between you and the property owner. Castillia is not a party to that contract. We may help facilitate the introduction, the conversation, and (in future) the payment, but the underlying booking is between you and the owner.

If you have been invited

An invitation is personal to you. The key or link that opens it is the only thing standing between your reply and anyone who holds it, so please do not forward it. If you think someone else has it, tell the organiser and they will issue you a new one.

If you tell us about a companion, you are giving us information about somebody else. By entering it you confirm you may do so, and you undertake to let them know that their name, and anything you say about how they eat, has been passed to the organiser for the evening. We keep it for that evening only.

Dietary preferences and allergies you give us are passed to whoever caters the evening. Castillia does not prepare food, does not run the kitchen, and cannot supervise how a dish is made or guarantee a kitchen free of any ingredient. If an allergy of yours is severe, tell the organiser directly as well as noting it here, and speak to the staff on the night. Treat the note on your reply as something that helps the kitchen plan, never as a medical safeguard.

Browsing castillia.com is free. Property listings have a tiered fee structure described on the Become a Host page. Castillia may take a commission on event bookings completed through the platform. The commission rate is shown to the owner before they accept a booking. All fees are quoted in euro unless otherwise stated. Taxes are charged where required by law.

The Castillia name, logo, design system, codebase, and curated heritage taxonomy are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.

3D scans deserve a separate word. Where Castillia commissions, produces, or processes a 3D scan, point cloud, photogrammetric mesh, or derived asset of a property, the rights split as follows:

• the underlying building or site remains the property of its owner;
• the digital asset (point cloud, mesh, processed renders) is jointly held by Castillia and the property owner under a written scan agreement, neither party may license or sublicense the asset to a third party without the other's consent;
• Castillia retains a perpetual right to display the asset on the platform and to use it for platform improvement, including research, indexing, and demo purposes.

Public-domain heritage media (historical photographs, archive documents) uploaded by you must be accompanied by their source and licence. If you cannot establish provenance, do not upload.

Castillia exposes a public REST API and a webhook delivery system to tenants on appropriate plans. API keys are tied to a tenant and are personal. Do not share them. We may rate-limit, revoke, or rotate keys if we observe abuse. Webhook endpoints must respond within ten seconds; we retry with exponential backoff. You are responsible for verifying the HMAC signature on every webhook payload.

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or the accuracy of any third-party data we surface (maps, geocoding, AI extractions). We do not warrant that a given event will go ahead, that a given property is available on a given date, or that any host will accept any inquiry. Where local law does not permit a disclaimer of an implied warranty, that disclaimer is excluded to the extent required.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Castillia is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of your use of the platform. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You agree to indemnify Castillia against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) content you upload that infringes a third party's rights, (b) your breach of these terms, or (c) your conduct in connection with an event or booking.

You may close your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. On termination we will delete your personal data in line with the retention windows in our Privacy Policy. We may terminate or suspend your access if you materially breach these terms or if continued provision would expose us to legal risk.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively by the competent courts in Bucharest, Romania, except where applicable consumer protection law gives a consumer the right to sue in their country of residence.

Before litigation, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by written notice and a 30-day cure period.
